I've set up my new online portfolio, you can view it

Talk about a long gap in journal entries - and artwork, come to think of it. What with the move, freshers' week, and just generally getting back into the swing of work, I neither had the time nor the inspiration to really produce much work. Just before I left, though, I had started
a large acrylic piece, and I worked on that for about a week but had to leave it behind. Added to that a couple of small watercolours and sketches which I didn't really want to scan and put up here, it must've seemed like I hardly did anything. Ah well - now that, upon entering the 4th week, I've settled into a comfortable routine here and got my bearings, I'm thinking it'll soon be time to break out the large-scale stuff. Horror of horrors; I left my Van Gogh watercolour set back home, and the only art shop I've found here in town so far has like... primary-school-level watercolours for some reason. That's so odd, because they've got beautiful easels and a variety of oil and acrylic... yet they're seriously lacking in the watercolour aspect. Oh well, perhaps that'll push me to work with those mediums more, and yield better results. Either way, don't think I've abandoned DA - keep watching this space, there's more to come from me! Especially because now I have a pitifully empty timetable and none of the pressures of IBitch. Also, I'm looking forward to doing a bit more photography again as the grounds of the uni are gorgeous and the slanted northern winter sun makes for some beautiful shots.

What update would be complete without a bit about what I've been watching/reading recently? Well, firstly, in the last month I have grown semi-obsessed with
House, M.D. and have watched 5 seasons in the course of 3 weeks, which is more of an achievement than it sounds. I've joined a World Cinema Society here and I've been watching some great international independant movies these last two weeks - Two of which I've highly recommend,
Låt den rätte komma in and
La science des rêves. As for books, I recently finished Nabokov's
Lolita, which was long overdue on my "stuff I just gotta read" list and a short one by Marquez,
Of Love and Other Demons, which was superb just like his other works. I'd continue, but I better wrap up - it's nearly 2am and I've a 9am start tomorrow. Xx
